NASCAR at Atlanta ‘Preston’s Best Bet’ for Folds of Honor Quicktrip 500

Another great race for the NASCAR faithful. Atlanta Motor Speedway will be more competitive than ever this year because of how many more road courses there are than paved courses. Many more drivers in the field can upset, place on the podium, or even in the top 10 on paved speedways in NASCAR opposed to Road Courses. Grab the party keg we are in for a long one folks!

One driver who ran particularly well here last year was Ryan Blaney finishing 4th place. Atlanta Motor Speedway is a 1.54 mile track, once a year and Blaney in the #12 Team Penske Ford has raced exceptionally well on 1.5 mile paved tracks in history. When looking at current form Ryan Blaney got off to a slow start this season. However, last week he ran well at Phoenix and had his best race of the year! Leading 35 laps and placing 10th in a highly-competitive race was a good boost of confidence for the #12 car.

This week I expect Blaney to pick up where he left off from in Phoenix. Starting 10th on the pole bodes well for Blaney. Increasing his chances to weave toward the front of the pack early on and make a mad dash for clean air.

Preston’s Best Bet: Ryan Blaney Top 10 Finish (-160)

Play or Fade? I’d love to know.
